inked a loan agreement worth US 300 million dollar with Asian Development Bank
(ADB) to support the Union Government’s flagship program of National Urban
Health Mission (NUHM). The loan will reinforce ongoing government efforts to
develop health systems in urban areas that can deliver quality health services
and that reach the urban poor and vulnerable. It will focus on strengthening
primary health care and also promote better coordination between health and
urban sectors and opportunities for PPP. Prior to this a similar loan has been
given by ADB in March 2015 to improve road connectivity between North
Bengal-North eastern region.

It is a regional development bank established on 22 August 1966 with
headquarter in MANILA, Philippines ,it aims for an Asia and Pacific free from
poverty.

It admits members of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia
and the Pacific (UNESCAP, formerly the Economic Commission for Asia and the Far
East or ECAFE) and non-regional developed countries.
3)
It was started with 31 members and now boasts of 67 including Japan, US, China
and India (India is also a founding member).
4)
